“Pay attention to your insecurities. They are not there to taunt you, but to show you where to heal.”
– Gabor Maté
Caily Bridgeland (she, her)
Psychotherapist
Caily holds a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from Northwestern University and Education from The College of William and Mary. She has clinical experience working in community mental health and group private practice at Trilogy, Inc., the Bette D. Harris Clinic at The Family Institute, and The Mind Body Co-Op.
Caily specializes in trauma and ADHD (especially in working with people exploring a new diagnosis). Caily incorporates psychoeducation, skills, and strategies for navigating ADHD from a strengths based perspective. One of her areas of focus is on understanding different hormonal considerations related to ADHD throughout the lifespan. Caily focuses on intentional unmasking by normalizing a “spiky skillset” that empowers clients to embrace their strengths while advocating for support in areas where accommodations might be needed. When clients already have an individual therapist, Caily works collaboratively and in conjunction to the already established therapeutic relationship by providing therapy that is specifically focused on ADHD.
As an individual therapist, Caily incorporates elements of ACT (Acceptance and Commmitment Therapy) which encourages clients to identify their authentic personal values and how they wish to live in greater alignment with their values, EFT (Emotionally-Focused Therapy), and SE (Somatic Experiencing) because Caily believes that attuning to the story that our body tells us is an integral part of mental health wellness.
Caily believes wholeheartedly in Carl Rogers’ concept of unconditional positive regard, with the therapist assuming the role of nonjudgmental collaborator with clients as they take charge of their own healing journey toward greater acceptance, fulfillment, and empowerment.
